Prof. Gustavo Mesch is a world renowned expert in the field of technology and society, specifically in Cyber and society, social effects of new media, youth internet culture, internet crime and deviation, and parent-child relationships in the new media.  Prof. Mesch holds a PhD from Ohio State University (1993).  He is a published author and has published dozens of articles in scientific publications. 

Prof. Mesch has served as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences between the years 2013-2016 and under his leadership the Faculty has reached many achievements: the Faculty has been ranked as one of the top Faculties in Israel under international standards including the prestigious Shanghai Ranking. 

Prof. Mesch has served as Chair of the Information & Communication Section of the American Sociological Association, and Editor-in-Chief of the Sociological Focus, the official Journal of the North Central Sociological Association (U.S.).  He also served as the editor of the section on Communications and Media in the International Encyclopedia of the Social and Behavioral Sciences.  Amongst others, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Israeli Internet Association.
