Master’s degree in German and European Studies
The Haifa Center for German and European Studies (HCGES) was established in 2007 for the purpose of exposing students, researchers, and the general public to a wide range of topics related to modern Europe and Germany in particular. The International Master of Arts in German and Modern European Studies at the University of Haifa is part of the teaching activities of the HCGES. The M.A. program is meant to familiarize students with issues related to Germany and Europe, and emphasizes Jewish and Israeli points of view, as well as the relationship between the Middle East and Europe.
A recognized Bachelor of Arts with a minimum grade point average of 80.
Candidates from abroad must have a Bachelor of Arts from a recognized university with a minimum grade point average of 3.0, 80%, or equivalent. Candidates who have completed their studies in an academic institution where the language of instruction is not English, or whose native language is not English, must achieve a minimum score of 570 on the TOEFL written exam, 230 on the computerized exam, or 89 on the TOEFL online exam, in order to apply. Comparative test scores will be considered individually.
A thesis track and a non-thesis track
The program can be completed in one or two years.
