Master’s degree in Hebrew and Comparative Literature
The program teaches the nature of the literary text in its various forms: as a work performed orally, and as a written, visual, and digital creation. The program also prepares students for independent research in the field of literature.
The Master of Arts is a continuance of the Bachelor of Arts. It deepens students’ knowledge in the study of Hebrew literature and the connections between different literatures.
The Master of Arts has a thesis track and a non-thesis track.
Bachelor of Arts in Literature (Hebrew, comparative or other), or a related field, with a minimum grade point average of 80.
Candidates without a Bachelor of Arts in Literature or with a lower grade point average, can apply to the acceptance committee and explore the possibility of entering a supplementary studies program.

Hebrew Literature – Track A with a thesis, and Track B with written and oral final examinations
Comparative Literature – Track A with a thesis, and Track B with written and oral final examinations
Creative Writing – Track B with a final project
Specialization in Russian and Eastern Europe Studies (in cooperation with the Department of Jewish History)
Personal Track – Track A with a thesis in consultation and with the approval of the M.A. advisor only
Accelerated Track to M.A. degree – with a thesis, or with written and oral final examinations

Employment options upon graduation: Teaching in schools (for holders of a teaching certificate), publishing houses, editing, journalistic review, in-depth research, and writing.
