Ph.D in Mathematics Education
The Department of Mathematics Education in the University of Haifa’s Faculty of Education is intended for those wishing to contribute to mathematics education in Israel.
The program is designed for candidates with a Master of Science or equivalent degree from a recognized academic institution, who studied in a research program and wrote a thesis.
The Ph.D. program is intended for teachers of mathematics and related fields: math teachers teaching at all levels of the education system; learning program and learning environment developers; mathematics teachers in special education and schools for children with learning disabilities; teachers of gifted and outstanding students. Our program is also intended for people working in fields of mathematics with a degree in mathematics or computer science, who wish to extend their research interest to mathematics education. Holders of a Master of Science or Arts in other fields (e.g., exact sciences, engineering, cognitive psychology) who meet the conditions of acceptance, may be required to complete supplementary studies as required by the Doctoral Committee.
