Computing and information system division services
The Computing and information system division provides a range of services in the field of computing and digitization for a variety of worlds in the university.
- SAP ERP system which includes and combines the core applications (student administration, tuition, research grant management, human resources, dormitories, procurement and inventory) into one integrative system.
- Integrating the advanced financial system and the SAP budget system into the business ERP complex (a multi-year project that is predicted to be completed in 2020).
- The student app and student portal which provide a range of digitization solutions for students that encompass all areas of student’s life at the University of Haifa (starting from enrollment, course registration, digital forms, grades, appeals, rides, forums and more).
- Portals for staff faculty use (faculty portal and campus portal) – used as a platform for managing forms, information about campus life, jobs and more.
- Establishment of a set of applied applications dedicated to the needs of research, administration and teaching – placement systems, decision support systems and more.
- CRM app Integrated with CTI to support the Marketing and Recruitment Department at the university.
- Advanced BI applications – Advanced database analysis capabilities and display in interactive graphical dashboards for personal use.
- Building websites (for a fee) for the university, faculties, departments and researchers.
- Operating a help center for students and faculty members. The help center provides a solution to all computer and information systems issues in the university.
- Managing computer classes and cabins throughout the University’s campuses (including campus Hanamal) which accommodate hundreds of personal computers for student use.
- Providing technical services for end stations throughout the university.
- Providing digital PBX services and advanced telephony solutions.
- University network management, Wi-Fi and ultra-high bandwidth Internet services.
- Providing Internet provider services at home to faculty members (for a fee).
- Management of software products licensing at the university – for teaching, research and administration.
- Sale of software products at a special discount to university staff members and students.
- Training university employees in working on information systems.
- Managing the university’s e-mail system based on cloud services from Microsoft and Google.
- Management of the university’s server infrastructure and private cloud cluster. Rental of internal cloud services (virtual servers, storage space, etc.) for university units and researchers (for a fee), backup and survivability solutions.
- A variety of information security solutions for the university network and systems, management and control of the implementation of the information security policy at the university as well as increasing awareness to the subject.
