Master’s degree in Mathematics Education
The Department of Mathematics Education provides numerous opportunities for training, research, and professional enrichment in areas such as:
Understanding of learning and instruction processes of mathematics in different levels and age groups; cognitive and neuro-cognitive characteristics of mathematical thinking; social processes in a math class.
The development and implications of: technological tools intended for learning and teaching math; curriculum, study materials and assessment tools in the field of mathematics; different approaches to the instruction of mathematics to suit diverse population groups.
Developing the specialization of math teachers and their instructors.
Teaching and learning of math in different study venues.
Various approaches towards advanced research in mathematical education.
All of the above-mentioned areas will incorporate contents from many fields of mathematics, such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, differential and integral math, and statistics.

The Department of Mathematics Education offers three Master of Arts programs:
- Mathematics Education.
- Mathematics and Education. This is a joint program of the Department of Mathematics Education and the Department of Mathematics.
- Learning difficulties and disabilities in arithmetic and mathematics. This is a joint program of the Department of Mathematics Education and the Department of Learning Disabilities.
Master of Arts students accepted to the first year of a department heavy in mathematics (Mathematics Education, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics) will be able to study concurrently for a teaching certificate in mathematics and receive a tuition exemption for the teaching certificate studies.
Bachelor of Arts with a minimum grade point average of 80.
Background in the fields of mathematics and education is required.
